Status: Submissions Closed
Thank you for your interest in the first annual Francis Coppola Director’s Short Film Competition, which closed for entries September 5. We will be live-streaming the top five films and announcing the overall winner from the 2018 Sundance Film Festival in January. To all who entered, we’re grateful for the introduction to your work. The 2018 Short Film Competition opens for entries April 1. Should you wish to receive notice of the live-stream schedule, please join the Francis Ford Coppola Winery mailing list here.
This competition and winners are managed and lead by the Francis Ford Coppola Winery team, and are not affiliated with the official selection or program of the Sundance Film Festival. For information about submitting your film to the official program of the Sundance Film Festival, please visit the Sundance Institute submission website.
“To me, the great hope is now that these little 8mm video recorders have come out, people who normally wouldn't make movies are going to be making them. And this whole 'professionalism' about movies will be destroyed forever, and it will really become an art form.”
— FRANCIS FORD COPPOLA, 1991
