Full DisclosureAs I've publicly announced on
the
Zoetrope boards many times
since
2002 (when
ZoBooks was created),
the Amazon links embedded
in
ZoBooks and ZoShorts contain 4%-referral tags that
don't add
any extra fees for the buyers, but were intended to partially justify
the
countless hours I've dedicated to designing and updating these sites.
NB:
I've actually earned an average of $1.73/year on those tags. No joke.
Even
though these sites have provided no significant compensation for several
years,
I continue to update them because I feel they showcase the finest that Zoetrope
has to offer.
They display to the world what this talented community is capable of
achieving.
FYI, I also maintain:
ZoPubs (publications
edited by Zoetrope members),
ZoBlogs (Zoetroupers in the
blogosphere) and
In Memoriam.

29 March 2009 Update:I just checked
Amazon's tracking system, and ZoBooks/ZoShorts
have not generated any
referral fees during the last four quarters.
I thought this issue had
been laid to rest years ago, but I just invested
the extra effort to
remove all 408 referral tags, in order to eliminate any further
rumors.
